Good parking, but a steep climb to the dam wall - good views when you get there. No wheelchair access so my disabled companion had to stay in the car ☹️.

Beautiful ăn tranquillity..worth a visit
This dam looked fantastic from the sky, looking forward to visit when I can. Built in 1940, Canning Dam is a major source of fresh water supply to the City of Perth in Western Australia. Construction of this dam has started in 1933 and was completed in 1940, it is built on the impoundment of the Canning River.

Very nice place to visit. It is something different. Very quiet. Not many people present when i went there. I was the only one. Definitely worth going. 4 stars from me as i liked it a lot. Mundaring weir is also very good. Just my opinion. You can look at both photos to decide which one you like better.
A very quiet and peaceful place. You can walk all the way across the dam, then there is a nice lookout on the other side. Just before reaching the dam, there is a picnic area called Turtle Brook, with toilets and a playground.
